A multi-faceted musician, Deana Gurney has seerved as accompanist for opera companies across the northern and southeast United States. As a free-lance musician in Portland, Maine, she has accompanied individuals and choruses, written songs, created choral arrangements, played percussion, transcribed songs, recorded tracks, and taught lessons.
Deana is currently the Music Director of Unity Center for Spiritual Growth in Windham, Maine and the accompanist for Women in Harmony, Wescustago Youth Chorale, and the Maine Girls Chorus, all in the Portland area. She also is a member of a local acoustic folk band, Pretty Girls Sing Soprano. Deana holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Potsdam College (New York), and a master's degree in music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
